REQUEST FOR OSSINING BUSINESS PARTICIPATION FOR CAR FREE DAY (on September 22nd).
On Wednesday, September 22nd, hundreds of Northern Westchester commuters will be participating in international Car Free Day.

This will be Ossining’s third year of participating in this event, expanding opportunities and incentives that simply get folks to use a sustainable mode of transportation on September 22 – like teleworking, biking, walking, carpooling, vanpooling, or taking transit.

When we launched our community’s first Car Free Day event, so
me of you may remember we brought Lime Bikes in for a two-week pilot test, among other things. As a collaborative effort between Green Ossining and the Village and Town of Ossining continues, we are working on a number of new things to bring to the community that will hopefully appeal to a wider audience. More on that soon!

But this year, we have a CALL FOR LOCAL BUSINESSES to particpate too. If you are a local brick & mortar business that would like to use this opportunity to thank people for going car-free/car-light (walk, bike, used an electric vehicle, etc.) as an alternative means of their usual transportation, please fill out the attached form, let us know what you might like to offer (for example, $1 off any purchase of $10 or more; an apple; a stamp on a frequent customer card, etc. Be creative!), and we will provide a poster for you to hang in your business and add your establishment to our promotional efforts.
