Friday Night Movie Series at the Ossining Community Center

Friday Night Movie Series at The Ossining Community Center

The film series will focus on current environmental issues. Popcorn is free, bring your own drinks and get current on issues facing us such as “bad eggs.” This is primarily focused towards adults but mature children are welcome to attend.

John bell will be hosting the series.  Films are approximately 1 to 1.5 hrs in length. If  you bring snacks plan on sharing. We like snacks especially ones from the organic community gardens. This is a free series.

The  11th Hour – November 12th at 7:30pm

The Power of Community – December 10th at 7:30pm

Green Ossining Committee Meeting – Thursday 9/23

Green Ossining Committee at 7:30 pm on Thursday, September 23, at the John Paul Rodrigues Operations Center (Armory, Rte 9A).

Detailed recommendations for the Waste Sector as well as the initial recommendations for the next sector that we will review, Water Resources. Please review these documents and submit any comments you have on them via email.

Potential Ossining Measures – Water Resources Sector

Summary: These measures are focused on increasing household and business water conservation and conducting outreach intended to raise awareness of the effects of stormwater runoff on the environment. (Commercial Water Conservation, Household Water Conservation, Stormwater Management)

Detailed Recommendations:  Waste Sector

Summary: These measures are focused on minimizing the amount of non-recyclables entering the waste stream and maximizing recycling rates. They are divided among four sectors: commercial waste management, household waste management, public spaces, and construction practices.
